The Immigration Task Force of West Seattle’s Fauntleroy United Church of Christ (UCC) teams up with Alki UCC and the Westside Interfaith Network to host an evening of learning together with Sarah Towle, author of the timely exposé of the US immigration system, Crossing the Line: Finding America in the Borderlands. We meet in the Fellowship Hall (9140 California Ave. SW). The event is free of charge.
Towle employs history, oral storytelling, and personal accounts to detail how U.S. immigration policies at the southern border are failing to protect human rights. Filmmaker Ken Burns said of this London-based educator, researcher, writer, and podcaster: “Sarah Towle has obliterated today’s dead-end arguments about immigration and transformed them into riveting, human stories.”
This evening, Towle will give us exclusive sneak peeks into her book, coming June 18 by She Writes Press. It is available for pre-order now — click here for more information — and will be available for sale from the release date at Paper Boat Books.
